CLYDE JOHNSTON RETAINED BY EAST-WEST PARTNERS FOR DESIGN OF NEW 18 NEAR JACKSONVILLE - Eagle Landing Golf Club at Oak Leaf Plantation to Open in Fall of 2005

Hilton Head Island, SC (January, 2005 ) – Clyde Johnston has begun work on his fourth golf course on Florida’s First Coast with the design of Eagle Landing Golf Club, located just southwest of Jacksonville, FL.

The 7,037-yard Johnston design is the centerpiece of Oak Leaf Plantation, a 6,400-acre master-planned community being brought forth by award-winning resort real estate development company East West Partners in a joint venture with the South Village Community Development District in Clay County.

The Eagle Landing course will track through ancient Florida wetlands and take on a vintage feel as Johnston incorporates several of the classic design holes from around the world into the par-72 layout.

Says Johnston, “My goal is to intersperse classic holes such as the Redan Hole, the Eden and the Cardinal into the routing in order to lend a sense of purity to the golf experience at Eagle Landing. Those individual designs are so technically and aesthetically complete that they can truly elevate a golfing experience.”

Johnston’s previous designs on Florida’s northeast coast include St. Johns Golf & Country Club (St. Augustine), Jacksonville Golf & Country Club (Jacksonville) and Eagle Harbor Country Club (Jacksonville). Eagle Landing Golf Club is being built by

Jacksonville-based MacCurrach Construction Company, a two-time winner of the “Golf Course Builder of the Year” award as bestowed by the Golf Course Builders Association of America. MacCurrach also built Johnston’s St Johns course. Eagle Landing is expected to open in the fall of 2005
