Weekends are for Fall Festivals
It’s time to say farewell to the blistering hot, humid days of summer and welcome the cooler days & nights of October. Right? Riiiight. Weather not withstanding, fall festivals are still are part of the seasonal shift in Eagle Landing and Orange Park.
On Saturday, October 8th, the recreation staff, in conjunction with our Sunshine Market, will host a spectacular family fun day on the Village Green in Eagle Landing. From 11am – 3pm, the annual Fall Festival gets underway with food trucks to test your culinary experience, a petting zoo and airbrush tattoos for the younger set, and seasonal brews offered for the more grown-up crowd will be available at the Cabana Tent. Vendors and live music are on hand to entertain and stimulate your senses and maybe even your pocketbook.
The 34th Annual Orange Park Festival at the Town of Orange Park gets underway the weekend of October 15-16 from 10am – 5pm. All the vendor spots have been filled with over 30 food choices and 140 craft displays plus a Kids Zone to keep the young ones entertained!
Enjoy all the usual festival food fare from turkey legs, funnel cakes and kettle corn to tacos, seafood and specialty coffees. Parking is available at Moosehaven with free shuttle service to the festival.
If you’re a music lover and collector and feel like heading to the beach, St. Augustine is holding their Fall 2016 St. Augustine Record Fair on Sunday, October 16th starting at 11am. Face painting and a bounce house for the kids and over 50 dealer tables for the music fans. Also, food trucks and beverages from Old City Brew and Bog Brewing and lots of free parking.
It wouldn’t officially be fall without the Florida-Georgia game on October 29th at Everbank Field where tailgating is just as important as the game’s outcome!
Sneaking a peek into November, there’s the spectacular Jacksonville Sea & Sky Show at the Jacksonville Beach on November 5-6 from 10am – 4pm. The United State Navy Blue Angels are the highlight of this over-the-sea airshow along with military and air vehicles, a huge street festival and kid’s area.
